Historic Dubsdread Ballroom | Orlando Wedding Venue Spotlight!

Updated: Apr 17, 2022

One of the most well-known venues in all of Orlando, the Dubsdread golf course, Taproom and Ballroom are nestled into College Park like they've always been there. And really, they have, watching the 'City Beautiful' grow up around it since the golf course was created in 1924. Today, the Taproom is one of the city's favorite restaurants, and the Ballroom sees approximately 150 couples begin their forever together each year. Let's explore the venue, shall we?!

Dubsdread offers three different ceremony locations, with the most popular being the courtyard overlooking the golf course. This beautiful space is framed with oak tress draped in Spanish moss, providing the perfect ceremony backdrop. The paver-stone walkways are a gorgeous setting for the processional and little helpers to add to the "Awww" factor. The outdoor setting even allows for flowers to be dropped ahead of the bride's entry, something that is quite rare at venues today.

The Courtyard can hold approximately 250 guests to witness the nuptials, and can work as a cocktail-hour space as well. This is the perfect option for couples wishing to have animal interactions for their guests, such as a Beer Burro or even cute rescue puppies.

This space sits just outside the ballroom, offering easy access to the getting ready spaces, and to air-conditioned comfort for any temperature-sensitive guests. For those parties preferring an indoor cocktail hour, the Florida Room is the perfect setting for your guests while the party and families take all the amazing pictures.

Once the vows are said and the pictures taken, it's time for the party to begin! The Ballroom offers a stunning, rustic setting for the reception, with exposed beam trusses offering plenty of opportunities for hanging lights and florals.

At one end of the room is a massive stone fireplace, a gorgeous focal point for the entire space. While not functional, the fireplace can be decorated however the couple desires, with candles, flowers or up-lighting to accent the stone.

For larger weddings, the seating in the Ballroom can overflow to the Courtyard, offering an indoor/outdoor feel and functionality to the party. Inside there is ample space for a dance floor, and an integrated sound system, so you and your guests can dance the night away with your live entertainment or DJ of your choice!

A few other things to consider, the boardroom near the entrance to the property is typical getting ready space for one half of the wedding party. This space has a large meeting table and several chairs, along with a television for entertainment. The brides will typically use one of the ladies rooms in the banquet space as their getting ready room. If needed, the Florida Room is also usable for preparation and organization after ceremony.

If your dream is to get married on the golf course, you will want to bring that up to the sales staff at the property when you first tour the grounds. The driving range is easily available, but if you wish to get married on the course itself, it will need to be done before or after the course's hours, as it is open to the public. You will want to keep in mind as well that approved footwear only will be allowed on the course, which means no high heels for the ladies.
